What was it like in the Lounge on 11/3/04?

5. I was devastated - i wish I'd known about DU...

I was up all night on the phone with distraught friends and family members and then I slept all day. But my grandfather told me that most corrupt administrations fall apart in the second term and that made me feel better. It's starting to look like he was right.

3. I lurked at that time and you couldn't even get in unless you

4. I skipped my classes that day

and spent it wallowing in dispair in the Lounge that day...wasn't much fun

6. I was a DUer, but wasn't here.

I barely got through the day without bursting into tears. I literally walked into my house and started sobbing. It was bad.

I didn't eat for two days, and spent the greater part of that time huddled in a ball on my couch sobbing.

And I had a lot of days like that right straight through until April of '05. Sucks.

7. that was a crazy day

ALL of the exit polls showed Kerry winning, so people were pretty happy. Eventually as the fixing of Florida and Ohio became apparent the mood shifted to outrage.

11. I was told I was catatonic and not functioning well at all...

I do know that I came here, but wasn't able to post at all because of the post count rule, bandwith, etc.(I was a newer member at the time).

But I honestly don't remember much, other than being completely miserable and devastated. My dh tells me he couldn't get me to eat and I barely slept--I frequently burst into hysterical tears.

Weren't there some freeper unveilings that day and days after? I do remember a bit about that--that some people revealed they were freeper trolls, etc. That was bizarre...

Places like GD were as or more comforting than the Lounge, because all of DU really just came together to weep.

I didn't go to classes that day. Hell, I didn't go to classes for the rest of the week. I didn't even go outside. It was just so goddamn bleak. I listened to non-stop Air America and stayed on DU just to try and return myself to sanity.

14. I got married that day. So I wasn't on the board much.

But I remember a certain amount of angst.
