Nothing prettier than fall in the Rockies

Just spent the weekend at my cabin in the mountains. It was so beautiful I really, really, REALLY didn't want to come home.

1. Wow, that's an incredible view.
I spent two weeks in the Rockies a few years ago, in the mountains. It's just unbelieveable.

2. This year has been particularly spectacular.
I don't know if it's because the drought is easing a bit or what, but the trees were just amazing this year. But they only last a day or two - it was noticeably bare-er on the way home.

Sure sign winter is coming! :-(

5. I just took my Fall colors drive today
My Mom and I spent the 1 month anniv of my Dad's death driving up over Guanella Pass and then through Summit County up on Boreas Pass. Geez, what a gorgeous drive!

I'll post some pix after my business trip - I got some awesome color photos.

Thank you for sharing your pic - 'tis a pleasure to live in Colorful Colorado!

7. What an excellent area!
I'm sure we saw darn near the same area as we drove back to Denver today.

I do think we live near some of the most gorgeous areas. I consider myself lucky to get to see such amazing scenery.

Met a lot of people on the way back to town. It really was a beautiful day. Yes, I feel lucky all the time to live here. I really do.

10. This morning just made you glad to be alive.
Light breeze flickering through the aspen, birds at the feeder just twittering like a Disney flick. I swear if Bambi had come sauntering out, I wouldn't have batted an eye.

11. Bullshit
That pic for example... everthing is dead, evergreen, or yellow. :boring: I spent time in Frisco, Colorado (for a conferance) Around that time of year BTW. I kept looking for something special about the Rockies but never found it.

16. You don't think
the Rockies (and the west) in general is overrated?

It's overpopulated, and minus all those people, it's just not an interesting landscape. Save perhaps the Grand Canyon. :-)

18. Overpopulated?
Hmm.

Population per sq mile for ME: 41.3

Population per sq mile for CO: 41.5

I mean, .2 people/sq mile might seem more populated than Maine, but I dunno . . .

New England really knows how to show its colors in the fall! The Rockies can't hold a candle.

23. I beg to differ... I'd take the Rockies any day... *sigh*
I promise: When you get your country together I'll visit. Been wanting to see the Rockies all my grown-up life. But I cannot and will not spend one dime in the US. Neither will I be checked and fingerprinted.

24. Aw C'mon!
So you have to get roughed up a bit, and you have to have your "papers", and you can't be HIV+, and you have to submit to unlawful searches . . . besides that it's a great place!

:sarcasm:

But at least in the mountains they can't find you.
