I posted this in GD, but figured the Loungites (or should
that be Loungarians?) might like it as well.

My new song lyrics, in honor of our Brave War President; requested by havocmom, to the tune of "Runaround Sue," and with sincere apologies to Dion.

Further apologies in advance for the liberties taken with some of the rhymes, but hey, I don't think it's bad for a ten-minute effort.

Snap your fingers now, tap your feet, and sing along with me:

Here's my story, sad but true,
About a boy that I once knew,
He stole my vote then ran around...
We chased him out of Washingtown.

We shoulda known it from the very start,
He always had a chicken heart,
Now listen people what I'm telling you…
That Georgie, he’s a running fool.

With tiny lips and a smirk on his face,
He only feels safe in Condi’s embrace,
But if he hears that Cindy’s due…
That Georgie, he’s a running fool.

He sure likes to jet around,
Hide out in a Colorado town,
Now people let me put you wise…
Cindy shows up, and Georgie he flies.

Here's the moral of the story from the ones who know,
He’s a coward; his excuses blow,
Ask anyone that he ever knew, they'll say…
That Georgie, he’s a running fool.

4. Thanks, Maestro. I can't play the guitar anymore, so can't
record it. But maybe I should indeed send to to Steve Earle. He's been in the kind of mood the last few years that he just might like it.

8. I'd send it in to him via his manager or someone else close to him
I wouldn't mess with going through his record company, although you never know they might like.

9. I've sold songs before (sometimes to my regret); you're probably
right about not going through his record company. The one time I dealt directly with a record company, I ended up selling my rights completely for a lousy five hundred bucks, and the song ended up being recorded by several people without even having my name mentioned as the writer.

I'll never do that again, even though I'm not writing many songs these days (none, actually).

By the eay, if you told us how things worked out in the end with your grandfather, I missed it. I do hope he went easy (going easy is the best we can really hope for, after all), and that you are feeling better these days. The post you wrote about him being near death, and your essay with the pictures, was genuinely moving.

12. He passed peacefully a few days later with my mom
and my uncle by his side. I went down for the funeral a few days later and he is now right next to his wife where he has always wanted to be ever since she died in '98. Thanks for asking.

7. Thanks, P2BL. Yes, I put it together in about ten minutes,
which is why it's a bit rough. Haven't done a song parody in years, so am a bit rusty. I appreciate the compliment.
