Poll question: Number one excuse from freepers as to why only 400 of them showed
After claiming that 10,000 or so of them will be arriving in D.C. on Sunday, estimates of only 400 of them showed up. So what do you think was their excuse for not showing up?

1. My guess
warning :sarcasm:

They were all at the local army recruiting office signing up for the war in Iraq, and since the line was so long, they couldn't make it.

And, of course, the liberal media kept them from knowing about the rally.

:sarcasm:

2. They couldn't find the Washington Monument
They wandered all around Constitution Ave, and didn't see anything that looked like Washington, so they went home.

3. Selfishness the key trait of most GOPers...
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 11:08 AM by bleedingheart
that is the reason.

You see they can bloviate all day about war and how they support it but they are too selfish to lift a damn finger to help their own cause...

Why would they want to spend money on anything but themselves, or take the time to drive to DC for a cause they supposedly support? When you are selfish you can completely feel comfortable with the hypocrisy of living that way.

4. "Us freepers actually WORK for a living"
Of course they assume that we don't, that we are all elitists with money..... it couldn't possibly be that many more of us saw this issue as one of the most important ones facing our society: Immoral wars..... yes or no? (and we say NO!)

In reality..... they are the elitists.... what happened in NOLA proved it.... they depise the poor.

5. 400? CNN reports 150
"Supporters of Bush's policy in Iraq assembled in smaller numbers to get their voice heard in the day's anti-war din. About 150 of them rallied at the U.S. Navy Memorial."

HA HA!!!

6. I saw different numbers
Most were closer to yours than what I put, but I thought I would give them the benefit of doubt.

8. Was this 10k number claimed on freerepublic.com? And if so, is the 400
their own count?

Just curious, Johnnie. :hi:

10. I got the 10,000 from something posted last week
I think it was an email that was sent out to freepers or something. The 400 came from the newspaper today at the office.

12. I think no matter what the numbers, they ought to be supremely
embarrassed. They are in the clear minority, supporting a lying poseur in his illegal and immoral war.

13. I watched a bit on C-span yesterday
I was actually embarrassed FOR them. Some woman got up there and "yap yap yap yap yap" about nothing. She then said she wanted to send the Cindy followers to Iran, then later said Cindy should pack her bags and go to Iran. I don't know why she had Iran on the brain, but she made no sense.

I watched it before the game and I was over a friend's house and he said "Turn this shit off, that woman is an idiot". I turned it off, but I wanted to watch it for some reason. I guess it's like looking at a car crash.

15. I don't know how many were there on Sunday, but I know for a fact
there were fewer than 100 counter protesters on Saturday. They had one city block as their designated area and they were all in a single file. I don't know how many people that is, but it isn't many.

17. liberal media printed the wrong dates in their articles
so the pro-war protestors all showed up in august and the lib media didn't cover it.

at least 500,000,000,000 war supporters showed, and not a word about it in the press.
