Yay! I'm back!

I know no one knows I was gone since I don't post very often, but I an one of the fortunate ones in Houston who just narrowly missed being slammed by Hurricane Rita.

I live in a travel trailer, and it is sitting here just as pretty as the day I left, last Wednesday - no damage whatsoever.

Luckily, I didn't get caught up in the traffic nightmare, as I stayed with a friend here in Houston who lives in a house.

I am so glad to be home with access to DU once again!

Thoughts and best wishes to the people in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area, and especially to the good people of poor, battered Louisiana.

After I finish school here, I'm moving to the Pacific Northwest. I've lived here for 30 years, and I've had enough!

Now I gotta go clean up my messy yard. It's about 105° with the heat index - what fun.

My SO's grandmother lives in Port Neches and I hear they have no water at this point. She's with her brother in Austin but we don't know when she'll be able to return home.
