I need help diagnosing my cat.
I have a female cat around nine years old. She's a big cat, and has always been overweight.

Today I came home and there was a wet spot on my couch. She used to pee on the couch and piles of clothes all the time, whenever she got mad at someone, or when we got new cats she didn't like. But this doesn't have a smell at all. It's a large quantity, like cat pee, but no smell. Also, this morning there was a puddle on my coffee table, though I figured it was something I spilled and didn't notice. The liquid was clear, and odorless.

My cat was lying under the couch, and when I went to pick her up, she had long slivers of drool hanging from her lips. She's always drooled, but this was ridiculous. There was a slight puddle under her head, where the carpet was a little wet. I have noticed that type of spot a couple of times in the last couple of days.

Anyway, I don't know if the couch was wet from lots of drool (her fur isn't wet, not even around her mouth), or what. She has for about a year now been drinking more water than normal, but her diet is about the same. Her litterbox isn't any more wet than you'd expect.

She's very moody, and lately she's been talking to me a lot. This is a new development, too.

Other than that, she seems healthy. She's the same weight, she's seemed in better spirits since she moved away from the other cats. I guess she sleeps a lot more than other cats.

Anyone have any ideas what the puddle could be, or of any illnesses that causes odorless pee, or extreme amounts of drool?

1. That happened to my cat years ago (the drool thing)

It turned out to be a respiratory infection. She got antibiotics and was fine in a few days. You should take her to the vet.

4. I just Googled "cat drool" and found this
I'm no vet, but I was thinking about potential mouth problems. How are her teeth?

I'd call my vet just as a precaution.

7. Blood sugar levels by all means
no smell to urine means that it's not concentrating and that's no healthy.

Look, any time you're worried, best thing is to get to a vet. I know it's pricey, I know it takes time and money you probably don't have but it's better than ending up wishing your cat was still with you.

12. Not sure it's urine.
I've been watching her this evening. She drools like a fire hydrant. She's leaving puddles everywhere.

otherwise. I'd take her to the vet. She might be in pain.

9. It could still be urine, even if it doesn't smell
My dog developed a kidney problem and used to drink lots and lots of water so that his urine was very diluted. It was so diluted that it appeared clear and didn't smell.
So, it looks like your cat's condition could be any of several things. Please take her to a vet for diagnosis and treatment.

21. not diabetes.
I had a cat with diabetes. Weight loss,(she weighed less than 5lbs) excessive drinking, very concentrated urine (really stinky turns the litter box into mud within a day).

We had to let her go last winter, was having seizures straight through the night, vet couldn't figure it out. We did the shots and regulating everything for a year. I miss her, she was a very good kitty, even though she was neurotic.
