Yum. The noodles were just a tad over cooked, but on the whole, it was pretty damned tasty.

Yeah, I used store-bought sauce, but still . . . everything else was super fresh and super tasty, and the sauce wasn't half bad.

Yum. I'll have to do that again soon :)

3. Let's see . . . boil water for noodles
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 06:34 PM by ET Awful
while water is heating, heat up wok with 2 tbs veggie oil.

When oil is hot, add one egg (scrambled) and cook for about 20-30 seconds. Add shrimp. By now, the water for the noodles should be boiling, take it off the heat and add the noodles in (let them soak for about 3 or 4 minutes, just enough to soften them up, then drain and rinse in cold water).

Cook the egg and shrimp together until shrimp is done (you can add scallions or onion at this point if you like). Once shrimp is done, at another tbsp or two of veggie oil (or peanut oil if you like), add rinsed noodles and stir fry for about 5 minutes (give or take, just until they're firm but still soft), add sauce and cook for another minute or so. Stir in a big ole pile of bean sprouts, and if you like them, chopped peanuts (I usually leave these out).

Heat for a minute or so with sprouts in to slightly soften the sprouts and serve.

Voila!

Yummy!

6. It actually came in a foil pouch with a plastic pouch inside

Just enough to do 1/2 pound of shrimp and 1/2 pound of noodles. The directions are pretty much what was on the sauce package :).

This is the brand I used http://www.atasteofthai.com/sauces.cfm

4. Indeed :). The "Tast of Thai" brand pad thai sauce was pretty damn
tasty. I'd like to learn how to make the sauce myself, but for now, this'll do nicely :)
