Anyone watching LSU-Tennessee game?
Wow! Huge comeback in progress for the Vols right now.

If there is another discussion thread on it, can someone point the way?

Thanks!

2. No - it's live, first home game for LSU since the hurricane
Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 10:07 PM by southlandshari
LSU was up 21-0 in the third quarter, now barely leading 24-21 with 4:50 left in the fourth and Tennessee is driving and looking strong.

Great game!

3. This is weird to me - no NCAA football fans on tonight?
I guess all the cool sports folks are watching the NFL.

Floogeldy, just me and you, kid!

:hi:

Edited on Mon Sep-26-05 10:13 PM by southlandshari
I guess I could just discuss it with myself - come back, Floogeldy!

:D

On edit - yay! Glad you're watching! No fun to watch alone. But better for you that you are long distance - I tend to punch whoever is sitting next to me on the shoulder out of excitement whenever someone scores or intercepts or does anything else remotely meaningful in a game like this!

11. I know what you mean
I knew about the game because I'm an SEC girl through and through. Love both these teams, unless they are playing Auburn or Georgia.

Forgive my play by play here, this is just a fucking fantastic game!

Overtime - awesome pass and interception in the Hail Mary attempt!

14. Thanks for watching with me!
I know the sentimental favorite is LSU and all, but I like Tennessee, too (though Fulmer leaves something to be desired) and an upset only helps the teams I like best in the SEC!

21. Give it up to Tennessee.
They won, fair and square.

Thanks for the heads up, southlandshari. It is a classic.

I'm not upset that Les Miles lost. Not at all, if you know his history.

I prefer college football over pro.

23. LSU deserved to lose that football game
If you lead 21-0 at halftime and lose you REALLY fucked up.

On a side note maybe the Tennessee coaches will now play Clausen and take their heads out of their collective asses when it comes to dealing with that Ainge kid.

28. Plenty of hugs here!
I would not be a happy camper if that had happened to a team I was really cheering for tonight.

I love both LSU and Tennessee, so I was happy for the Vols, but know what an awful night it is for LSU fans after a game like that!

Here's another for ALL the LSU fans around here tonight!

30. That was insanely conservative
I understand your frustration after watching the replay. LSU got the ball at the 20 with slightly over 2 minutes left and tied at 24. They ran two give up running plays up the middle then attempted a gadget play on 3rd down. Ridiculous. Tennessee had all the momentum so LSU definitely should have tried to just end it in regulation and never give the ball to the Vols again. Very puzzling, since LSU pulled out the Arizona St game on the final drive so you would think Miles would have confidence in the offense to do it again.

29. I'm astonished by what I'm reading here
I bet LSU in the first half and turned the game off when it was 21-0. I just assumed LSU won huge. Actually it's great timing discovering this thread because I turned on ESPN2 and the replay is at halftime right now so I'll witness the miracle.

Just more evidence to bet the first half only, something I should have discovered a decade earlier. All the unrepresentative rubbish shows up in the second half.

When I got home last night and checked the score, I couldn't believe it. In retrospect, this is typical Less Miles. He blew a huge lead last year against Texas (when he was at Oklahoma State) and ended up losing big.

Edited for spelling.
