I'm printing a bunch of Celtic cello sheet music - ask me anything!
Found this cool site with bunches of jigs, reels, etc. and am printing out all the music. It looks simple enough for a semi-nouveau player like me (I haven't played since 10th grade).

1. I played the cello too for years but haven't in a long time.
I love it actually. Sounds like fun, getting back into playing again. Good luck. :hi:

2. Yet another thing we have in common!
Mr. DTBK let me "splurge" on purchasing a solid wood cello instead of the laminated cellos one finds at a rental, and it sounds so much better!

Have you thought about getting into it again?

3. I bet your cello is beautiful!
I started so young that I only have a 3/4 sized one, and it's at my parents. My boyfriend is trying to teach me to play guitar and when I practice I think about the cello. It would be fun to pick it up again, now that I think about it. :D

5. Give it a try!
I envy your learning guitar, too - I think that would be very hard to learn (that and piano, which I'd love to learn).

4. I broke a cello, once...
...knocked it right off the stage. I have never heard an orchestra become so quiet so fast. :yoiks:

9. It was an orchestra "thing"-
we had to switch instruments with another person. I got a cello. I tried to play it. I got done and leaned it against a chair. It fell off the chair and then toppled over the edge of the stage. Everybody just stopped moving and speaking and stared at the director who was dead quiet and then yelled, "Laaaraaaa!" I believe I said, "oops!" Not one of my best moments.:scared:

11. Sigh. I am envious. I play piano, but everytime I sit down
a little or middle Midlo wants to play with me. Can't remember the last time I played something without 'help'.

12. That's cute, though!
Sometimes I'm happy I don't have kids...but usually not.

15. Irish music on the cello? You're going to love it.
I've only ever seen one Irish band with a cello player, but boy, did it add a lot to the sound quality of the instrumentals.

If you ever make any recordings, I'd really like to hear them.
