5. I love baseball. I played from Little League through Legion ball.

I love watching the playoffs and the World Series. And this means that I (and the rest of the country) deserve to have a lying, sociopathic jackass as our President? I respectfully disagree.

The commissioner of the sport in the 80's was a Ph.D with a heavy arts background, a man of letters and very erudite. A. Bartlet Giamatti, RIP.

I am wary of sports addiction too, but America, and baseball, are vast enough to embrace the highest and the lowest of intellects. The stupid and the sublime. I love art and music as much as you, but my world is big enough for the subtleties and graceful physics of baseball.

I mean, you like "The Family Guy" and yet retain your intellectual integrity. :P Give some of us baseball freaks a break. :D

I've been doing a lot of reading from the men's movement lexicon lately - and with the sole exception of the Promise Keepers it IS a liberal "movement".

All the books by various authors say that sports, or maybe football specifically would be more accurate, is either a symptom of or training for the warrior culture. That's a bad thing, incidentally.

The men's movement, which all of us should investigate, strives to eliminate war among many other GOOD things.

It is NOT hostile to women.
