Confession Time...
Marilyn Manson's cover of Personal Jesus is better than Depeche Mode's original.

10. I believe it was many years before PJ.
I know DM *wrote* a lot of songs using acoustic guitar since early on, but I think PJ was their first song to actually feature anything that wasn't totally electronic.

But what do I know? I only paid close attention from Speak and Spell to Some Great Reward.

12. Sacrilege?
Violater sucked. Everything great about DM was missing on that album. Only the covers have any juice - MM's Personal Jesus, Tori's Enjoy The Silence....

15. I repent....
Just downloaded MM's Tainted Love to my iPod and it totally rocks!
He's got that sort of growly viciousness that gets the emotion in the song just right :)

17. What did you think I was gonna fess up to?
My life is an open book - and as I've been told more than once an overly melodramatic soap opera. I have little left to confess...

But here's one.... I loved you for your wit, charm, kindness - who knew you were beautiful too? (Re. your PM) Icing on the cake....

You said it - what I hoped you'd say! You love me! You really love me!

:woohoo:

And you even liked my picture, too?

Amazing. I was having a bad hair day and hated the outfit I was wearing when that was taken!

;)

and Marilyn Manson's cover of "Down in the Park" is better than Gary Newman's, and Johnny Cash's cover of Trent Reznor's "Hurt" is better, and Metallica's "Breadfan" was better than Budgie's original.

25. I like them both equally
I also like both versions of How Soon is Now equally--the one by The Smiths and the one by Love Spit Love. As to other songs that have been remade I have a preference of one over the other.
