6. I loved it

The story so far:

Gena Davis' character is the Independant VP under a Republican Pres. He has made it clear that the only reason he chose her as VP is to get the female vote.
The Pres gets a stroke, and on his death bed asks the VP to step down, and allow the Speaker of the House (another Rep) to take over instead.
The Pres dies, and Gena decides not to step down.

Next week - she gets to select her VP.

10. 9 o/clock is a tough one

I would prefer to watch Earl and The Office but since we can tape them (NBC reuns everything at some point during the week on Bravo) we watch THe Amazing Race. I haven't checked out Nip/Tuck but I have heard good things about it, my wife watched it and didn't like it much. :shurg:

Geena Davis's show is going to be the victim of two occurances
1. the comepitition at 9 see above
2. the West Wing look of the show it too familiar to me*. I might catch it in repeats but we will see.

Discovery National Geographic-the MEgastructures is so good my wife asked me if I was addicted to it last night :bounce:

I can't fully describe the island (S) they built in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) but let's just say that finally the crowd prince just declared "BUILD ME THE WORLD" which they are currently doing in man made island form in the Persian Gulf. AMAZING!!! look it up

18. I never watch USA unless there is nothing on TV and

they are showing a movie. I love Discovery, but not for that. I love any documentaries about animals or historians or historical events. I also love Animal Planet.

much like TNT they carry the Thurs/Friday rounds, if that means anything to you.

TNT and TBS ( I roll them into one continuous ball) do have Seinfeld and ...um...Friends so then there is that.

19. I missed CiC, but I got a question about AB.

Just from reading his rants on his website and listening to him on the show, he sounds very anti-corporation and the like. I really like the man.
BTW: your Brewers might get.500 this year and if they do, it'll be great. I think they got great young talent and just need enough time to get through the chaff. I bet next year they'll compete with the Cardinals (my team), especially if Sanders and Walker retire. There's talk that Taguchi may retire if the Cards win the series. Morris, Marquis and Suppan are all free agents, but the Cards have Wainright and Reyes (rookies). So, we might be looking at replacing 2B (Luna), LF (Schumaker, Duncan, free agent), RF (Schumaker, Gall, free agent), 3 starting picthers (Reyes, Wainright (who may not be ready), and free agent). All and all, It looks like the Cards will have Pujols, Rolen, Eckstein, Edmonds and Molina back. But, Edmodns is 35. . . so I'm looking for the Brewers to have a hell of a year next year! I think they got the talent, just gotta put it together.

24. Brewers are finally turning a corner

and have come out of the "losing team" slump. Its a big psychological boost for them after so many losing seasons. Next year may be very good for them, but they are in the toughest division in baseball.

As far as Alton Brown - I never got an "anti-corporate" feel from him. In fact, he often says "you can find this ingredient at your local mega-mart". But he does support local butchers or fish markets due to their high quality.

I just like the way he breaks down cooking and makes it easy to understand, and he really explains the science behind it. My daughter likes the puppets, and the guy in the cow suit they use to show where cuts of meat come from.

But, although our look may have gotten expensive, I assure you our props, sets, costumes, actors, and general mentality are still budget basement. Good Eats is still held together by dental floss, duct tape, peanut butter and brine. We still don’t spend as much per episode as American Idol spends on Paula Abdul’s hair. And unlike much of what goes out on those 315 or so channels that pass for television, Good Eats is hand made…no committees, no corporate spank, and no stinkin’ focus groups.

We’re still all about the food, and puppets…and the occasional bad movie rip-off, and food…and strange camera angles, and bad shirts, and food.

We're diehard Cards fans. Cardinal and baseball were two of Cora's first words, but I hope they win it all this year. Injuries abd retirements could decimate this team

7. I will watch LOST and Invasion again. See if they get any better.

I was lost in LOST being a newb, and Invasion was a bit slow but I'm willing to put up with it for William Fitchner.

9. Lost is absolutely wonderful, but I can see how you would

be "lost". Invasion does need to pick up the pace a little. But I'll give it a go a couple of more times.

I recommend renting the DVDs of last season. Lost is incredible.

13. My friends are trying to catch up. All of the DVD's are checked

out at Blockbuster. They were lucky enough to get the first 2 DVD's and catch the first 8 episodes. But they really need to see the rest. They LOVE it. They are now addicted, but still would be lost if they started in the 2nd season now. They are going to though. Tonight they will watch the re-run of the premiere and then the 2nd show.

22. I'm in the same boat

I watched the first three discs and was instantly hooked, but discs 4, 5 and 6 are seemingly endlessly checked out at my video store.

I am having my parents tape season 2 for me until I can get caught up. I'm worried that something will be spoiled if I start season 2 before I finish season 1.

16. My guilty pleasure is "Survivor" on Thursdays, but since I

recently started up with a local choir that has rehearsals on those nights, I've gotta get into the habit of remembering to tape the episodes, since I've managed to miss the first two of the new season. Drats! We don't do the TIVO thing, since we aren't big TV watchers...but I'm sure I would watch more if we did have TIVO.

Which leads me to another question: If one has TIVO, does that necessitate watching a lot more of TV? It seems fairly obvious they go hand in hand...

Hmmm...food for thought.

17. any night is alright

If it is on Cartoon Network it's good, except for (One Piece, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, and Dragon Ball Z)

Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends is really good and it is on most nights.

I am 24 and I would rather watch Cartoon Network then most of the other stuff that is on TV.

21. Yeah, my kids (ages 8 & 11) watch those shows, too.

Cartoon Network is a very popular channel in our family. My 8 yr old dtr, in particular, LOVES the poofy yamy yumi whatever show. I can't even SAY the damn thing, let alone bring myself to watch it. Totally Spies is also a big hit with her.

I must say, though, SpongeBob is still my fave kids' cartoon show. :)

23. sit down with them some time

when you have the time, try for a Friday, they always do new shows on Friday evening. It's great to just sit back and remember those days when you woke up early on Saturday morning and ate cereal in your PJ's while you watched tv. Cartoons are really relaxing for you. Plus shows like The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy have a lot of humor that works on the adult level too.
