Here's a whacky idea

A Cinton/Rice "national unity" ticket in '08?

Remember: I SAID this is a whacky idea. Lots of flies in the ointment. But there are reasons why it could make sense.

But a two-woman team at the top of the government is appealing. And talk about your cross-party synergy. As an Electoral strategy, I think there is a strong case.

But, yes, while I tend to think of Hillary Clinton as a strong contender for the presidency, one cannot exactly call her a "reliable progressive." As for Rice... she has made some very moderate statements re: social issues. Her stands on abortion and women's rights seem encouraging. But then she gets into bed with those neocons on foreign policy.
