When Is It Best To Take Crack Cocaine?

As a rule of thumb, it is profoundly unwise to take crack-cocaine.

There is perhaps a single predictable time of life when taking crack-cocaine is sensible, harmless and both emotionally and intellectually satisfying. Indeed, for such an occasion it may be commended. Certain estimable English doctors were once in the habit of administering to terminally-ill cancer patients an elixir known as the "Brompton cocktail". This was a judiciously-blended mixture of cocaine, heroin and alcohol. The results were gratifying not just to the recipient. Relatives of the stricken patient were pleased, too, at the new-found look of spiritual peace and happiness suffusing the features of a loved one as (s)he prepared to meet his or her Maker.

Drawing life to a close with a transcendentally orgasmic bang, and not a pathetic and god-forsaken whimper, can turn dying into the culmination of one's existence rather than its present messy and protracted anti-climax.

There is another good reason to finish life on a high note. In a predominantly secular society, adopting a hedonistic death-style is much more responsible from an ethical utilitarian perspective. For it promises to spare friends and relations the miseries of vicarious suffering and distress they are liable to undergo at present as they witness one's decline.

A few generations hence, the elimination of primitive evolutionary holdovers such as the ageing process and suffering will make the hedonistic death advocated here redundant. In the meanwhile, one is conceived in pleasure and may reasonably hope to die in it.

I think drinking amphetamine would work much better then cocaine. However, pharmacists each have their own recipe

It does work (briefly) as a pain reliever. But who needs that kind of paranoia?

Sure some drugs are fun, but crack ain't one of them. Paranoia, vomiting.... ick.

I choose heroin. (If I'm gonna choke on my own vomit it might as well be reasonably pleasant)

would be just fine. A drawback of narcotic painkillers is that they're sedating, which some families complain robs them of their last chances to interact with a terminally ill loved one. Although I haven't seen it prescribed for this purpose, reasonaly dosed amphetamines would offset that side effect. If my days or those of someone I love are seriously numbered, I say bring it on as far as freeing me from pain and preserving my ability to interact socially. Getting "high" is in such a different league, any comparison is silly.

more about dying and state of mind.

I did'nt mean to underplay the horrors of crack and/or other drugs. I have addicts in my family and there is nothing but pain with glimpses of false hopes.

I have an interesting body chemistry, and the 'caines just don't effect me. Cocaine, novacaine, procaine, lidocaine. crack, it don't matter. I've tried them all and I get absolutely nothing. It is hell at the dentist also, since the dental industry is heavily reliant on novacaine.

Found this out as a small child when I injured my eye. Cocaine was(and perhaps still is) used as an eye anesthetic, and when my opthomologist started to stich me up after applying the coke, I screamed bloody hell. He upped the dosage, and when that didn't work he was forced to knock me out with something else. Said that it isn't terribly uncommon, about five percent of the population shares my condition, and I've met a few others in my lifetime that also aren't affected by coke.

I don't know whether this is a good or bad thing. Makes dental work a bit more expensive, and I've always been curious about what the big hulabaloo was about coke and coke related products. But then again, with the addiction factor added in, which I don't have to worry about, perhaps it isn't such a bad deal after all.
