27. Some people don't get movies like this.

I work with a couple at my work. Very Christian. They would make sort of a disgusted face, and make a comment like "oh that's vulgar, I wouldn't like something like that." A couple of them made a comment on "My Name is Earl" somewhat like that. Now, I haven't seen the show yet, but I was trying to explain it to them. And they just sort of scrinched their noses.

My thing is, I like movies that have a bit of redemption in them. Lately, Crash has been that movie. I have found that some of the most rewarding friendships I have had, have sometimes been with people who can cuss or drink up a storm. Sometimes, these are the folks who you can count on in rough times. In the end, dealing with the cussing and sometimes rowdiness had a reward. I think some folks miss the point in what Christianity was supposed to be about, and that was redemption.

30. Saw Bad Santa in a theater in Kansas..

it was not crowded, to say the least, and we were laughing at every scene. It was mostly young adults there, and they really appreciated the humor. The ones around my age just kind of sat there...but they didn't walk out. I just saw Crash on video, and thought it was a very powerful movie, by today's movie standards. I recommended it to everyone I know. Yeah, we have friends we can't see "certain" movies with...they like the homogenized, no cussing movies I call dreck. It's tough, so I usually rent movies out. I can get into certain theaters free, but I wind up watching them at home.

I think my favorite thing was the completely random encounter in the parking lot between "Santa" and the Arab guy from Office Space who'd been eyeing him at the bar.
