It's the first truly pleasant evening in months
Yesterday evening I was surprised by an extremely heavy thunderstorm that heralded its arrival with a heavy pelting of hail upon my window. After the storm I rebooted my computer and discovered that the storm was in fact an unbroken line starting just south of Dallas, where I am, and ended beyond northern Illinois, in Canada. Heh. Who knew?

I woke up this morning to a cool, cloudy day, and it was good. The best part, however, came after sundown- it's now a pleasant, low humidity, cool breezy kind of night. Taking the dog out for her ten O'Clock walkies, we both had a chance to relish the first not-oppressive weather since spring. Hound puppy had a chance to chase cats and squirrels and generally sniff all the trees in the neighborhood, and I acted the usual dead weight on the back end of her leash, enjoying the night by walking in quiet meditation.

Besides, just a little earlier, a steady client of mine (a man I've mentioned here before- he has cancer and does not expect to live more than another year) told me he considered me to be his best friend. As someone who doesn't make many friends easily, I was brought up short by the honor. Besides, his dog loves me- I'm the only one who will play tug with her until she drops.

Some days are just good. This one has been so.

1. Fuck that.
Can we talk about the weather instead?

4. Have I ever told you how much I like you?
No?

You figure it out.

2. I moved to this area last month.
It's been like hell and now, today, I think I may like living here! My dog has actually rejuvenated...she's very frisky. And, no air conditioner today, finally!:hi:

3. What a nice post
We experienced the same thunderstorm/hailstorm and are enjoying the pleasantness of the day.

Sometimes we have a positive effect on others that we don't even realize. It's nice when we are made to realize it!

6. Experienced the same storm
It was amazing. No hail in my neighborhood, but lots of flashing and crashing thunder with a few transformers adding their own showers of baseball sized 'sparks' and a couple of what sounded like explosions - though the power never went out.

Today was glorious and tomorrow is supposed to be nice too.
