Termites in my Bathtub: Why?
For about a week every time I come from work there are about 15-20 dead or dying WINGED termites in my bathtub. I don't find them anywhere else. I see no holes in the wall. My bathtub is not made of wood. And even if they are thirsty, why aren't they in any of the sinks, or my OTHER shower/bathtub? Thanks bug people.

1. Sorry to copycat ya.
You seem to have a serious inquiry, but I have nothing to offer in that department.

I haven't the slightest.

2. That means you have or will have an infestation going soon
What you are seeing is swarming and there are many, many more that you don't see. You need to call an exterminator. There is a nest/colony somewhere near your house.
I have never understood why they congregate in bathtubs, showers whatever. That's where we first discovered ours. I thought they had gone away then a month later there were hundreds of them on the bathroom floor when I came home one day. Talk about a scream fest!
Just trust me and get an exterminator in there soon!

3. So I'm going to have to tent our entire condo?
All 4 units? Hello $4,000.

5. Not necessarily
There are two different types of termites in this country. Most of us have the subterranean variety which do not need tenting to get rid of. If you live in the deep South then you would.

We ended up paying $1000 by using Sentricon and haven't seen one termite in over 3 years. We didn't realize they had been chewing through our laundry room wall for quite some time before their bathroom appearance. They did some major damage but they haven't been back luckily. I know it ain't cheap but it can't hurt to look into it.
I feel like a commercial. lol
Good luck to you!

4. They might be looking for water..
or water damage has provided a easy route into those areas. We just had a roommate put a hole in the shower wall. Water damage made the wall weak. Little black bugs started coming through. Not sure what they are. Little and black, a hard shell, and they splatter and stick to a wall when you kill them. But, we only see ten or so per day.
