7. For the past several days,
the cat, dog and myself seem to be having an eye allergy. But then again we live in the pollen capital of the world. But it will pass. I use lots of eye drops for all of us.

Take a nap.

last week I was out of work 3 1/2 days.

Last Tuesday I was so sick, I left work and went to bed, and stayed there until Saturday.

Couldn't eat; queasy stomach; head felt like it weighed a ton; face and eyes swollen; absolutely no energy.

I can only imagine how those people in New Orleans are dealing with all that mold :puke:

10. I am saving mine for mountain cedar season beginning
around mid November.

When I lived in the Central South, I did the ragweed thing and it was horrendous.

Now that I live in Texas, it is Mountain cedar in the winter and Cottonwood in the spring that get me the most.

I sort of grew out of the ragweed misery after 15 years or so of abject misery for 8 or 9 weeks every year.

My unlimited sympathies.

PS get some Patanol eye drops They rock

18. Have you gotten a rock salt lamp?
it's supposed to help release negative ions in the air that helps clean up allergens.

I have one because my sinuses are always clogged. :(

What it is is a chunk of well, salt, that has a little lightbulb in it that helps release the negative ions. I got mine in a health food store.

no doc has ever mentioned it...not surprising since most of them are idiots...does it work... I had a hepa filter, but it broke a while back and I haven't been able to afford a new one yet...

35. it's like a chunk of Himalayan salt.....
Edited on Sat Oct-01-05 01:18 PM by Darth_Kitten
that gives off negative ions when "heated" from a low watt lightbulb that fits inside of it. They sell them in some health food stores.....

negative ions are supposed to "grab" or attract all the positive ions in the air, pollutants, allergens, etc.

I've just really started using it, though I've had it for many months. We'll see if it helps.

26. Have you noticed a difference since you started using it?
By the way, in reference to your sinuses being clogged, have you ever used a nasal irrigation system? It's a waterpik (or similar generic device) that has a different attachment at the end. It really, really helped with my sinus infections. (It keeps the mucus moving in the sinuses.)

Here's a link where nasal irrigation is discussed:

http://allergies.about.com/cs/treatment/a/aa040802a.htm

I use the Grossan Sinus Irrigator Tip that is discussed. I had sinus infections ALL the time. Since I got it (about 10 years ago), I haven't had one. As soon as I start feeling weird (whether because of allergies or from a cold coming on), I pull it out. Some people use it every day.

Here's one link to a site that offers the tip:

http://www.achooallergy.com/sinus-grossansinusirrigatortip.asp

There are also other sites.

I hope that this helps. I've bought them for friends and family. It was definitely worth the money!

34. I'm starting to use it now.....
it's supposed to "help" with allergens, so it's worth a shot. So I will have to see if in time it works. :)

No, I've never really used a nasal irrigation system. Maybe I will, thanks. :)
