DUers, can you help a 5-year-old Rita victim?

A child who lives in Port Arthur, but who has evacuated to Houston, needs your help.

She is staying with her maternal grandmother right now, but her maternal grandmother has to go to work this weekend, so the child will be moved to my hometown to stay with her paternal grandmother, who is an evacuee from Port Arthur staying here. Don't ask about her parents...they are sorry and are nowhere to be found.

This little girl is five years old. She wears size 7 clothes. If you have any clothes that your children have outgrown that you can send to her, please contact me through PM. This child has NOTHING. All of her clothes and toys are in Port Arthur. Anything that you can send her--barrettes, clothes, toys--ANYTHING will be appreciated.

My family is helping this family by feeding them, helping with their pets, and providing transportation to them. But I have a boy, so none of his clothes that he's outgrown are what a little girl would wear. Plus, he's a BIG boy--I can't even remember when he wore size 7.

Again, if you can help, please PM me, and I'll give you a shipping address. And I will see that the little girl writes thank-you notes to anyone who helps her.

I'm rescuing a dog in Moss Point. The family claims to have too many dogs, and they want to get rid of it. It's a male schnauzer. :D I told them that I would foster it for a month, and if they wanted it back during that month, that I would give it back...but they were insistent that they can't care for him, because he's "too hyper." That's ok with me...hyper fits fine into my family! :D

27. My daughter is the same age and the same size

so I can't help w/ clothes. But maybe we can make it a project to go through a few of her toys and have her pick a couple out. She has quite a few Barbies and some stuffed animals. Maybe throw in a couple of storybooks too.
We'll make it a project-she really wants to help someone.
