Does anyone have any personal experience with a 'Gooseberry'?
Because I do like them a lot, but they seem to be virtually nonexistent in the US.

sorry - regretable pun.

We used to have a couple of gooseberry bushes in the garden when I was young - though ours were a very light yellowish green colour.

when Hyacinth went to the country house auction, and was bidding on Dowager Lady Ursula's Gooseberry Wine.

Actually, I think a lady where I worked in Austin made a pie from some bushes they had on their property. I found it almost impossible to eat since she had not SEEDED the gooseberries first.

Seedy little fuckers, those gooseberries. Whatever you make, strain the crap first.
