8. It's a great album with one glaring ommision

Rainy Night in Georgia is not on it!!! I realize he didn't write the song, but he OWNS that song! Have you ever heard Brooke Benton's version? Neither have I.

Ray was the greatest. I will always regret that I never saw him live.

9. I gotta agree...another omission is 'Mess Around'....

...but again I need to get several more o'his greatest hits...there were so many...pure genius he was...one song I cry everytime I hear it now is 'Seven Spanish Angels' with Willie Nelson as it was one of my Dad's favorites and now that he's gone too it rips my heart out! :hi:

10. I just got that song the other day

I love both Willie and Ray, but I can't enjoy that song because frankly, Willie can barely hang with Ray on his BEST day, and he sounds like he knew he was outclassed. It's no shame on him that he's not Ray Charles, but I just can't dig Willie when I'm hearing Ray.

I've been listening to Willie's Teatro album lately. Especially 'I Never Cared For You,' and his love song to a joint, 'I'll Take You With Me Everywhere I Go.' Good stuff. I listened to some samples of his recent reggae stuff, but I'm undecided on that yet. It seems a bit pedestrian.

Nini got me 2 of his CD's for xmas, and the 'Ray' movie DVD! It is somehow unnatural to not like Brother Ray!

.....gotta LOVE him...I was pissed that Mess Around wasn't on this one...so I'll definitely be gettin' me some more! Nini did ya good didn't she...I've got the DVD too...excellent and the extras too...Jamie Foxx ROCKS...those scenes on the extras of them together were priceless! :)

6. Jamie Foxx was UNREAL

I couldn't believe how he INHABITED that role! I KNEW he deserved all the praise he got.

The movie showed Ray's dark side as well... which is proper, because he was human after all. My sister once encountered him in the St. Louis airport back in '94, and was appalled at how abusive he was with his staff. :-(

But geniuses are not often easy people to deal with. Shit, look at what I have to put up with! ;-)
