Can you imagine? Did you know? That until HE PERSONALLY forced the issue, black people were not PERMITTED IN the New Orleans Mardi Gras Parades.

Go figure.

He became my hero then and there... aside from that fantabulous voice of his, and his ultra-liberal points of view.
