Sweet Victory. Kansas finally beats Nebraska after a 36 yr losing streak.
The Jayhawks stepped up and whooped the Cornhuskers 40-15. The first time in my lifetime! It was a glorious day and I woke up this morning with a smile.

Look out Texas! You could be in for Operation Rock Shock Jayhawk next week.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk, go KU!

1. Puh-lease. I cannot be the only Big XII football fan on this board!
It was a monumental victory for the Hawks. And with basketball starting in only 3 short days, it is indeed a glorious week for the Jayhawks.

2. Can I say one thing?
Tell Bill Callahan thank you for trying and kick his ass out the door. Peterson probably is gone too. No offense to KU football, but this is unacceptable for Big Red. And, I'm not a Husker fan

3. No offense to you, but the Jayhawks are getting a lot better.
I'm sick of everything being because the Huskers are having a down year. Show some respect please? The week before this victory, the Jayhawks completely shut down the Mizzou Tigers - who's quarterback had just been crowned the national offense player of the week in the days before we played them. We held them to 2 field goals.

Our defense is very, very good. We held Oklahoma to one touchdown. We held K-State to one touchdown - AT KSU.

We could have very easily won those games as well if we had any sort of offense. Now the offense seems to be finding their groove. I only wish we would have allowed Swamson to start and play at QB all season long. We would be owning the Big XII North right now. Yesterday we had 2 rush for 100 yards and 1 catch for 100 yards.

4. Did I say anything about the players at KU?
Brad Smith can't play QB and good for the Jayhawks. But, I was just talking about Nebraska OVERALL. The Big 12 is down this year, period. If the Jayhawks want respect, beat Texas. That's all I'm going to say.

Beating Nebraska by 30 is great, but it's against a nobody.

Show Smith pressure and a little coverage, he can't pass.

KSU is a dying program.

Great job to KU for beating the Huskers. Good for them. But, play Texas hard and I'll give them respect. Right now, Mangino just might keep his job.

5. Recall that last year we DID upset Texas. Were it not for the shitty last
minute call where they called a bullshit offensive pass interference call on KU's Charles Gordon. KU was forced to punt and Tejas scored a TD in the final minute. Heart breaking. Head coaches and players from all over the country called our coach to say the offensive pass interference call was complete BS.

You are correct. Tejas will be tough. And the odds are against us. BUT, stranger things have happened. If by some miracle my Hawks are able to upset Tejas.......oohhhh......a girl can dream.

Either way, if we beat ISU, we are going to a bowl game. And it will be deserved as nobody gave us any credit when the season began.

7. And, I feel the same way about calls against Arkansas.
But Arkansas has been no one over the past two seasons and deserve no respect. Sorry. . . I just can't commit to giving KU respect yet. However, if they get to a bowl game. Good on'em.

8. Last year is not this year.
If you can't beat Tech in Lubbock don't think you'll waltz into Memorial and beat UT.

12. You are right. I guess I should just give up hope. I think I'll call the
Athletic Department and tell them not to even bother sending the team down there.

6. I once bet on a game that had a 72 point spread -- The Huskers
were playing Akron, Toledo, or some other smaller school. I took the Huskers and they covered!!

I am glad to hear that Kansas beat the Huskers.

10. Rock Chalk my fellow DU'ers. Tis a glorious weekend.
And the week will only get better.

Lots of naysayers here aobut KU. And I understand why....nobody is giving us a chance in hell to win that game next weekend. I mean, Texas is looking unstoppable right now (at least until they run into USC). I know I'm wearing my crimson & blue glasses, but I'm not giving up hope.

Odds are much better we'll need to take out ISU to go bowling, but it sure would be nice to Rock Shock the collegiate football world next weekend.

You never know. Stranger things have happened. Like * winning 2 elections!
