that they mean that crappy,sponge-painted 'look'. You know, the one that is supposed to look vaguely Italian and Renaissance and usually goes along with those annoying Sistene-chapel-hand-of-God prints and smiling, fat, little cherubs.

But it was the Melrose Place thing that really cracked me up. I mean, who would want to live in a 'Melrose Place atmosphere"? Does that mean there will be a lot of shiny, plastic people with dyed hair getting in shrieking, hair-pulling fights outside my door? Or what?
