and then had a seizure. It made me sick and brought back a whole bunch of horrid memories. Please keep this way too young defenseman in your thoughts. It is just really sad. :( The game was cancelled:

Red Wings defenseman Jiri Fischer had a seizure on the Detroit bench late in the first period of Monday night's game against the Nashville Predators and was listed in stable condition at a hospital.

Fischer was given CPR at the bench and a defibrillator was used before the 25-year-old native of the Czech Republic was removed on a stretcher. The game was called off with no makeup date immediately announced.

Team spokesman John Hahn said Fischer was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital and was stable, breathing on his own and responsive.

2. It looks like he's doing good. but for a second there, when a coach

jumped on top of him and started doing CPR. I've never heard Joe Louis Arena that quiet.

5. We were playing pick-up once...

and this 33 year old guy - great shape, non-smoker, no drugs - literally dropped dead on the ice. He had a rare heart disorder that is hard to diagnose, forgot the name. It was f***ed up. I haven't played there since - it really creeped me out. I was deeply depressed for a week or so after and I barely knew the guy. :-(

Glad to hear that Jiri Fisher is doing okay.

6. My brother's best friend in high school died at 18 from a stick to the

throat. :( It was horrible. He died on the ice, holding his dad's hand. :cry: This felt like that time.

8. I was at the game

Just glad to hear he is ok. It was really weird. We had no idea what was going on for a long time. From where I was sitting in Nashville's defensive end, you could see them doing CPR then the defibrillator. It was quite awhile before we even knew who it was that was hurt on the bench. First we heard he has hit in the throat with a puck.

It was just really unbelievable. At one point an ambulance drove up to the ice near the tunnell where the zamboni comes out and it was either Yzerman or Shanahan that skated out with a gurney then a couple Red Wings escorted his fiance across the ice. They originally said they were going to continue the game. Then about an hour later they just called it and explained exactly what had happened to everyone over the PA system.

I was at the Mike Utley Lions game too and this was every bit as scary. Possibly more because nobody around us knew what was happening. There was no thumbs up or anything this time. Thank God he is alive and ok.

9. You could see it on T.V. as well...it made me sick to see them doing

CPR. My brother in law called from the game to find out what was going on.

We were at the Utley game too. I wanted to vomit. I don't know if you keep up with him but that man is a bigger inspiration in my opinion than Chris Reeve even. :hi:

I haven't seen anything on Mike Utley lately, but the last time I saw him on TV he was doing stuff like jumping out of airplanes and skiing. It was amazing. I hope he is doing well. I'm sure he is.

He had a heart problem that appeared to be better. This time it's a seizure. They thought at first that he took a puck to the throat. :(

16. My Husband and I immediately switched to the game...

when we saw that there was a delay in the game. How horrible for his team and family.
