I'm so depressed.... (so much for comfort and joy)
I know I shouldn't put the cart before the horse, but I just know the doc is going to tell me that more surgery is headed my way. I haven't even been given the ok to work out again after the last surgery. I know that these few weeks of not working out is not going to undo my months of hard work, but I MISS working out. It's one of the things that keeps me sane.

Not to mention, the lack of working up a good sweat every day is raising havoc w/ my skin. Suddenly, I've broken out all over my face and neck. Today I went to the gym just to sit in the steam room hoping that will help.

I don't feel 100% physically, I look miserable, and the prospects for getting back to "normal" sometime soon are slim.

Happy f-n holidays to me.

(Now that I've complained, it only goes to follow that someone in much more dire straits will come along and remind me that I have much to be thankful for.)

2. How about just upper body work?
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 08:04 AM by Misunderestimator
I know that's probably a no-no too.... as the risk of harming yourself is still there. All I can do is offer my sympathy and assure you that you are right, that this won't undo everything you've done. I hope that your fears are unfounded and that no more surgery is required. But if it is... you will be able to get back to your routine eventually. I know how it feels not to workout once you've become accustomed to its benefits.

I'll keep good thoughts for you. You have a right to complain.

3. So sorry MissMillie
I know how hard it is not to work out from injuries and such. I drive my family nuts when it happens to me. I had a full year starting last Nov of injuries and illnesses. You'll get back to it when the time is right and will be even more motivated, and it will probalby surprise you that it won't take as long to get back to where you left off.

Do what is right for your health.

4. I've got a lot of bone spurs in my back and neck.
And if the constant pain I'm in now is somethin', 5 years from now I'll be begging for death.

Do you have a spouse or a lover? Be happy you've got one too. People take for granted what I can't even get.

7. I'll see the doc today... Maybe he'll give the ok for that
but if I have another surgery, I'll be back to rest again for at least another 2 weeks.
