I know this is a couple days old, but Marcus Vick
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2283809

is booted from VPI!

and declares for the NFL draft. I hope he doesn't think he's gonna get his brother's kind of contract...
(or maybe even drafted???)

Oakland'll probably take him :hide:

1. Hate to break it to you, but he'll be drafted without question.
A lot of people think he's a lot better than his brother is. He's a better passer and makes better decisions. Still, he'll need a taskmaster type of head coach.

2. I don't think it'll be a first round pick, tho.
There's a lot better talent entering the draft this year than Vick.

5. No, I don't think he'll be round 1 either.
Round 3 or 4 I'd say.

3. Eh, probably move him to RB or slot receiver
We'll see. I doubt there will be a high draft spot for a guy who only played two years of QB and that was split up over 3 years.

OF course if brother Michael says draft him Atlanta will pretty much have to.

"It's no big deal. I'm just going on to the next level baby"
-Marcus Vick at a Hampton restaurant as reported by a local affiliate.

6. They definitely won't move him.
Like I said, he's a much better actual QB than Michael, and given Ron Mexico's success (say what you want about his QB rating, he's won a lot more than he's lost), that'll keep him at QB.

7. He really only had 1 year where wh won a lot more than he lost.
Last year: 11-5 team.
This year: 8-8
2003: 3-2 as starter
2002: 8-6-1 (he missed 1 game)

11. Okay, but you do know the team's record without him is atrocious, right?

12. that is true. But, I don't see them getting better with him as QB any more
Carolina always used to have fits when he was QB before this year, it was downright awful. But now, they (and most everyone else) has figured out how to contain him, and can do so. Unless he starts studying other teams and relying less on his legs to win games, then he has already peaked.

4. Late round pick, I agree.
4th or 5th round, unless Oakland goes crazy and picks him earlier (they just like taking head cases.)

If he pulls that same shit he did against Louisville, he will have 2 broken legs by the end of the game.

But I think he turns into a Clarett, and never sees live action in a regular season game.

8. He may be better than his brother, but he is still a jerk!
I would love to see him stomp on a NFL players leg. Does the word "Headhunter" come to mind?

9. His rap sheet is more interesting than his stat line
Sounds like a classy guy. Another good role model I'm sure.

10. I don't care, so long as he's not wearing my colors.
I don't want him in maroon and orange.

I don't want him in burgundy and gold.
