Poll question: What's The BEST DAY For Christmas To Fall On?
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 07:51 AM by arwalden
For me... I like it best when it falls on a Tuesday or Thursday. Mostly because it creates a defacto four-day weekend. (Ain't I selfish?)

-- Allen

P.S. This year, December 25th is on a Thursday. :-)

5. Thursday
the odds of getting a friday off are much greater than getting a monday off, and besides, who wants to go to work the day after xmas?

3. Yesterday
Get that shit over with! The day after Thanksgiving starts The First Day Of Christmas, and the orgy of greed which that involves truly sickens me.

7. i love christmas
i love getting and giving gifts, having friends over , christmas eve with the family, old movies -- christmas carol my fav, cooking, more cooking and last but not least christmas cookies.
oh and decorating the house -- more is never enough -- pine every where -- i'm fairly rococo about the whole thing.

6. Friday!
I don't get the day after Christmas off, and I have to travel on Christmas day, so that way I have two days to recover and get home without missing work!

We get the 24th, 25th and 26th off. So, I get a nice long weekend. I'm trying to take the 29th, 30th, 31st, and Jan. 2 off, so I would have A REAL LONG WEEKEND. :D

9. I'm being mean and voting for Wednesday.
I've mostly worked in jobs where I had to work weekends and holidays, and office workers get a remarkable number of three day weekends as it is. Some of us NEVER get a long weekend. Holidays only mean extra work.

I don't know if it's changed, but the Federal Government used to only get the Friday after Thanksgiving off without using their own leave if the president signed an executive order authorizing it. When I worked at National Airport in Washington DC it was a little annoying to listen to those people complain about having to use their own precious leave time for the day. This from people who generally got extremely generous leave as it was, and didn't seem to work all that hard from what I could see.
