You Know You're Spending Too Much Time On DU, When....
1. You wonder every morning why your local paper doesn't have a General Discussion forum.

2. You yell out "hey, anyone wanna see my ass?" and all you get are confused stares and mothers clutching their children.

3. You're on line at McDonalds and they screw up your order so you shout "I didn't get my fries you stupid freeper."

4. You go up to your friends and say "Ask me anything" and they slap you repeatedly for being an idiot.

5. You start talking about sex, then pause and look over your shoulder to see if Skinner is watching you.

6. You can name all nine Democratic candidates but you can't name the last American Idol winner.

7. You actually hate people named Bush, even if they're not related to the current president.

8. You're getting picked on by the school bully and you threaten him by saying "Stop it or I'll have Skittles kick your ass."

9. When you asked your child what they wanted to be when they grow up they said "A moderator."

10. When you walk into Barnes & Nobles and see Will Pitts book you grab all the copies and hand them out to people in the store going "You see this guy, I KNOW him. I KNOW him."

:D

Feel free to add your own if you can think of any.

1. Um, is No. 6 a problem?
While the rest can be debated, seems to me No. 6 would be an improvement for a whole lot of people.

3. not to me...but
How many other places can you find where a majority of the people can name all nine candidates and not one single American Idol winner.

15. That's my point
Too many people who DON'T frequent DU can't name even ONE candidate, but they can name every person who even PARTICIPATED in AI. Whereas we who enjoy this illustrious venue have been paying attention to things that actually matter. Ergo, No.6 is not a problem, but a sign of intelligence.

11. I'm not embarrassed to say
Kelly Clarkson. C'mon people, what's wrong with knowing both? Sure, I agree it's more important to know the candidates, but really, why should anyone feel ashamed to watch American Idol?

The runners-up were Justin Guarini (2002) and Clay Aiken (2003).

Especially #3, I've called many idiots I've come into contact with lately "Freeper!" before I realized it. :D

I haven't, however, asked if anyone wanted to see my ass. I HAVE found myself dreaming about reading posts. Rather disturbing.

26. you know you are spending too much time modding DU when
you get frustrated trying to remove inflamatory threads and responses from other website messageboards and lament that you don't have that power.

You tell your wife that she has to rephrase her last sentence because it violates the "vanity thread" rule, but if she changes it to fit the rules you'll gladly answer.

You use "nuke" as a positive verb in everyday conversation.

You sign your Holiday cards:

"Thanks
