ARGH!! Why does it get dark so early?
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 05:24 PM by omshanti
It's depressing. I HATE the winter!
:(

Well, only 21 more days till the solstice, right?

(edited to clarify that I was asking a hypothetical question, rather than seeking the scientific reason of why the days get shorter.)

1. I know what you mean
I weep when I have to put my hammock away every year. Only a couple of weeks more and we can start to see the days get longer.

2. Just To Piss YOU Off!
It could stay light, but "it" just knows you hate it. Bummer, huh?

7. I hate the short days too
I get tired earlier. I think it makes me a little sad too. I like light. Why does it have to be light mostly when I am work too?

8. Right there with you. Don't like the short days...
You start wanting to go home from work around 4:00 p.m., but are obliged to sit around the office after nightfall.

Much prefer the longer days of spring and summer -- when you leave work, you still feel like you've got some of your daily life left!

Here's to longer days after the 22nd!

:toast::

9. I used to live way up north
I am waaaay better off down south, where the sun shines a lot more in the winter. I don't miss the depressing dark days of winter in the northwest. It's not good for your mental health, I can verify.

10. It gets dark early because
the Earth's axis is not perpendicular to its orbital plane.

Oh, you didn't want a literal answer, did you?

every year. Damned Aussies and Kiwis! :P

12. Ah...well...the sun goes down,
the tide goes out,
people gather round and they all begin to shout.
Hey Hey, Uncle Judd,
it's a treat to beat your feet on the Mississippi mud.

Sorry, I got distracted.
;-)
