OK, what bands or artists are famous that you absolutely love???

Here's my short list (And I don't care if you disagree.:P):

Lost Prophets - These five Japanese guys are the epitome of rock in a power-bass style (if there was such a thing.) I don't mind if any of you disagree, but I absolutely LOVE varied guitar melody (notes wise) with a strong bass and heavy guitar presence in the background. It makes rock more appealing, IMO.

Sick Shift - A group of growing popularity in the punk genre (which I like as equally as rock), these guys KNOW HOW to write a guitar melody, and are REALLY good at it. Their drummer kicks ass also.

Belvedere - Another rising upstart punk band with the same qualities as Sick Shift, only Belvedere incorporates more of that heavy power guitar style that I really like. My favourite punk band.

System Of A Down - Either you think Serj Tankian's singing voice is horrible, or you think it's the best thing in music. I think it's the best thing in music. They're the most talented metal band (if you really want to call them that anymore; they've been delving into more general rock recently). Their drummer, guitar player, oh hell EVERY ONE OF THEM, is VERY talented. No guitarist in any band on Earth could ever dream of playing guitar as well as Daron Malakian does.

Oleander - I generally like the melody more than anything. No special background style, but the elements of some of their songs (bridge, chorus, etc.) are wonderful to listen to. I've downloaded their song "Are You There" off of Kazaa Lite just to listen to the bridge of the song.

So what famous groups do you really like nowadays, even though MTV and ClearChannel are watering down music???

On edit: I'd like to hear of some relatively newer (less than 15 years old) groups as well.

9. Yeah, Phish!

And they're still new...well, they're always doing new things, which is more than most bands do.

(And please note who's at the bottom of this post...)
