What happened to that movie |

"American Splender" (I think that was the name) Remember all the hoopla about cartoonist Harvey Picar's (sic) life last summer? What happened? And why so much pre-opening publicity?... I still don't get it.

1. It made the Art Theater runs |
|
I'm still waiting for it to come out on DVD. I've only heard great things about it from sources that I trust.

2. It was a fantastic movie. |

The best film I saw this year. It found its niche audience (weirdos like me) and quietly left the theatres, like I predicted it would. Harvey Pekar is one of my heroes.....

3. Saw it--it was really interesting |
|
and both my guys LOVED it!
Cool the way it sort of wandered back and forth between the fictional Harvey's life, and the real folks sitting around discussing making the movie.

Give it up! What is so good about it. Or maybe: whats it about? NPR gave it so much press that I have to think somthing was working for it.
