4. Although I loved Pirates the most, I think Finding Nemo was best
for viewing with my 5 year old. He was a bit put off by the skeletons in Pirates...

5. Pirates and Nemo were wonderful
But you should've included Freaky Friday, another great film, on your list.

6. Holes. I'm on a waiting list on NetFlix.
Must be great, since they say it is a long wait.

7. We bought a copy
My daughter saw it with her class when it came out, and swore it was the greatest movie she had ever seen. Since she was ten, this didn't move us much, and since it had Shia LeBeouf, and all I knew about him was from "Even Stephens," I had my doubts. But we bought it when it came out on DVD, and my wife and I were floored by it. I've watched it half a dozen times, and it works every time.

It's worth the price, if you give up on Netflix.

9. Pirates of the Caribbean
as delightful as it was, doesn't really strike me as a kid movie. Finding Nemo was WONDERFUL and I need to get the DVD.

13. Whale Rider, Whale Rider, Whale Rider!
the single best movie I saw this year, bar none! I turned to my husband when we came out of the theatre and said, "I wish I had a daughter, just so I could take her to see that." Every young girl should see that movie, and every young boy.

also Bend it Like Beckham.

14. Darnit, Darnit, Darnit, no, no. no. 2002!!!! Same with Beckham!
Sigh. Sorry. It's been building up. Bend it like Beckham is excellent (though not as good as Holes), and Whale Rider is sitting on my window sill waiting to be watched (I can't get my 10 year old daughter to watch it). Both great films. Both came out in 2002. So both don't count! Arggghhh.

(That was my Schroeder imitation).
