Question on Turbo Tax software |
|
My wife wants to use that Turbo Tax computer stuff for our taxes this year. How easy is it to use and how likely are we to get audit?
We've always had our taxes done by someone do to complications in the past but everyone we talk to said it should be done by us now since we don't have those complications any longer.

1. I've used it for years |

The "interview" walks you step-by-step through the process and when it's complete, so are your taxes. Be aware that if you want to electronically file, there's a fee and you will need information from your previous year's return to sign the current return electronically.

You should give it try! If you do your taxes and then decide you don't want to file that return, you haven't really lost much. But I'll bet when you see how simple it is, you'll like it. I personally use Tax Cut but I think they are all similar.

Unless you're doing the 1040EZ, it's definitely worth it in my eyes

4. Easy as pie- and they make a mac version. |
|
Also, if you don't get the cheapest version, I believe, you get one free e-file!

I would figure they are pretty close. I have used it for 6 years in a row and it's worked out great each time. One cool thing about the software is that you can back up your returns on a disk and next year import the information and it saves you a lot of time.
I say go for it.

7.95 to fill out the forms and e-file. Never had a problem even with capital gains and losses.
