Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!
:donut::hi:
Welcome to another "Hump Day", Early Morning Crew! I hope you're doing well! My back is doing much better today, so I am feeling fine! I used one of those Thermacare wrap things, and it really seemed to help. That and Aleve of course. :)

Grab some coffee, have a seat, and start this day out right with me!

I'm doing great, Man! I didn't get home from work until nearly mid-night last night, and didn't get to bed until 12:30, so I needed to get up at 6 instead of 5. I'm here NOW though! :bounce: You doing OK today?

18. You don't sleep much!
Yeah, I'm doing alright thanks. For some reason I have to get up at 6:30 just to arrive at work for 8:30, but that's alright. I am happier when I get out of bed earlier, but I seem to need something to force me to get up otherwise I won't. Working the "early" shift at work provides the reason I need. :)

It was cold here this morning - 3 degrees below freezing. But, as mason said, that's because it's a clear sunny day.

I can't get to sleep early, and then need to sleep otherwise the brain doesn't really work at top notch.

Einstein had to sleep for about 9 hours per night, so I'm not exactly in bad company.

We had people from all over who flew in for the NYC meet-up recently. A few of us suggested the next winter gathering should be in Florida. I know I'd try to fly down for that. I'm very lucky. Most of the time I can walk away from home and everything is just as I left it when I return. That's very important when you have pets to care for.

I would love to meet you and Greekspeak.

I would prefer to have a normal sleeping pattern. I actually like getting up early, but I just get off schedule so badly that I don't get up as early as I should. If I have a lot to do it helps though. Then I get in a solid schedule. But if I end up with some free time for a day or two, I can get all screwed up, haha.

48. We're doing fine,
just happened to be very busy the last days. And Heidi went to the other side of the lake early morning to renew her working permit, and had to find out that the office is closed until the afternoon due to the ongoing carneval here. :( Now she has to spend the whole day there for a five minute affair. Government even sucks here, I guess.

55. That SUCKS!
I'm sorry she has to wait that long! Why didn't she come home and then go back over there later?

60. That would be even more troublesome,
since she went with bus and ship, and the schedules don't leave you much options. But I'm sure she checks out some nice stores while over there. She always finds some extravagant or even exotic stores there. Like a little Korean shop that sells handmade paper, etc.

66. Yes, indeed.
I just hope she doesn't find a store with exquisite pens or something ... She always thinks you can't have enough of these. Oh wait, am I telling you this?

I haven't gone pen shopping in a while, though...I really need to go!

70. LOL!
That's the spirit!

The only thing that keeps me quite away from them is the fact that they're all sold with a medium tip, which is way to big for my handwriting. I prefer extra fine which I have on an old Pelikan fountain pen and on my big Montblanc - but this one has some problems with the ink flow, unfortunately. I hardly use it, and I don't know why I bought it, really. It's the big one and it's pretty chunky. But I was young, then. ;)

74. See if you can find an Esterbrook.
Their nibs are changeable and they had MANY different sizes. Here's an example:

81. Looks nice!
I did change most of the nibs on mine when the fine ones were an option. I even changed the original gold Pelikan nib to a plain steel one which I love. And the Montblanc does have the fine nib too, but it seems that the nib doesn't support the inkflow enough, compared with a medium.

I even have some calligraphy nibs for the Pelikans, but I hardly use them.

How do you fill the Esterbrooks?

That's my Pelikan (same model, but mine is golden instead of green: )

84. That's a great looking pen!
The Esterbrooks are lever fillers. You put the nib into an inkwell, pull the lever up and down twice, and it's full! I hate cartridge pens.

86. Me too,
all of my pens are lever fillers. It's a bit messy, but it's the right feeling.

I'll have to go for a while. Have a wonderful day, Clintmax. Good to see you!
