Stereolab shows in California.

If anybody is going to see Stereolab in either Costa Mesa or San Francisco and would like to report back with comments on the set, I would be much obliged. I am seeing their Portland show Sunday night. No fucking Oscars for me.

I have seen them thrice, once after Emperor Tomato Ketchup (1997, I think), and that was a terrific performance, and then once in late 2001, also a terrific show, and again a couple years later after Mary Hansen had died - I certainly missed her voice and presence. Laetitia Sadier plays trombone quite well, by the way.

Also, if anybody gets their mits on Fab Four Suture, which is slated for release Thursday, and has any comments on that, I would like to read them.

And of course if you think Stereolab fucking sucks, this is a good thread in which to express that.

Couldn't take watching those guys wank around on their turntables and assorted devices, so we retired to a back bar.

I do have hopes for this tour. Will report back, of course.

For my tastes, they hit the peak 9 years back, but I'll take them over most of the crappers I'm asked out to go see.

Some guy who saw a show last night in California said to expect a lot of old songs thrown into the mix.
