I'm at a loss to fathom the appeal of this crap. Why, I ask, would anyone care that two seemingly vacuous young women went to a farm to stay for a few weeks? What is the appeal? My God, they're absolutely vapid and for the most part, seem devoid of any human value! Can anyone explain the appeal of this crap?

And maybe there's a 'hockey game/NASCAR race' esthetic in play, too -- people are hoping they'll fall off their platform shoes in front of a cow, or eat poison berries, or stick their tongues in a light socket.

Why did people watch Anna Nicole Smith's most recent debacle? They were hoping she'd OD, or throw up on camera, or fall down on her ass, or do something unspecified but horribly embarrassing so they could say, 'look, even though I'm an unemployed, undereducated yob, at least I'm not that dumb!'
