Name the Last Great Metallica Studio Album.
My pick is The Black Album. There were a handful of good songs after this but they essentially went to hell in every way afterwords. No wonder Jason Newsted quit.

10. I agree
not as good as "..Justice" but still the best since then. The vocals and lyrics are pretty bad though for the most part.

5. Black Album...
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 11:42 PM by FDRrocks
Load sucked and Re Loaded... bleh... I haven't even bothered with them since that. Thier utter greediness and conservative approached to the music industry reflected in thier Napster outlook just turned my off completely. By that point they were making albums that had maybe 1 good track on it... then an album with 1 good riff on it... etc... and asking me to pay almost 20 bucks. Well fuck you.

And it was headed by Lars. Lars, I used to respect your drumming. But now I see that you are way overrated. You really do suck. I could play all your parts 6 years ago without a double pedal. Go hang out with Peter Criss... where you belong!

9. I agree
I liked S&M, but Metallica has plummetted steadily since 1991. As for Lars, I could name a number of better Rock Drummers:

John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
Bill Ward (Black Sabbath)
Kieth Moon (The Who)
Neil Peart (Rush)
Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)
Danny Carey (Tool)
Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band)

Lars was good in the 80's and early '90's but not that good then even.

I lost interest with Master of Puppets. Kill em all is still among my favorite metal albums.
