I HAVE ARRIVED IN CA!
I made the final leg of my journey today: I drove from Sedona, AZ to Carpinteria, CA. I am sitting in my new bedroom in a house nestled in a valley. I love it already.

5. It was just fine
I enjoyed nearly every minute of it. I think in 5 days there were maybe 10 minutes I did not totally enjoy.

Driving across the Mojave Desert today was just spectacular. And of course the best thing to do in a desert is to stop at a Dairy Queen for ice cream. Yum.

4. I'm in the agricultural area
away from the coast, so it may not be like that here.

At any rate, my roommate is wonderful.

13. I go to UCSB
it seems to me that the rich republican assholes live in Montecito and the northern part of the county is EXTREMELY right wing. That part of the county wants to separate from the evil liberal south.

My family had a house on Sandyland for years.

How about the Palm for a couple of brews?

For some soda water, in my case, but yes!

I assume the Palm is in bustling downtown Carp?

29. Is it raining where you are? It is down here.
"It never rains in southern Califorrrrrrnia..."
When I first hit San Diego in January 1980 it was raining and the rain continued for THREE WEEKS! Flooding and mudslides everywhere. I almost moved back east due to crappy weather. But then the sun came out and stayed there for 10 months. I've been here ever since.
Welcome to SoCal! You'll love it here.

30. Yes, it was raining
when I arrived last night and this morning. A much-needed rain, brought by a transplant from a shitty-weather region. I don't mind, rain is good, makes things grow.
