... the one that's going to be on Sci-Fi channel later this year.

I'm going to tell you now that the first episode isn't too much - more of an introduction to everything if you've never ever seen Dr. Who before. But the 9th episode - "The Empty Child", follwed by "The Doctor Dances" is probably the best of the bunch.

I certainly encourage your kids to watch Dr. Who, but they'll be scared by Episode 9 - the "Mummy... Mummy.... I want my mummy...." with this kid in a gas mask.

The spoiler - it's micro-aliens who mis-reconstructed this boy (and others) incorrectly and if you touched this boy you became like it - they thought that humans wore gas masks - because this boy died when the spaceship they were in crashed - on top of him. Getting the micro-aliens back with his mother did the trick because the aliens then got the right DNA and put the boy back right (plus everyone else).

Sorry I don't have any spoilers yet for Dr. Who 2006 - but of course I will be watching it before it's available over here Stateside publically at least.

So, the doctors prepare to take off the bandages and warn the patient that the cosmetic surgery to make her look normal may not have succeeded. The last bandage is removed and everyone gasps....the surgery was a failure! The camera shows her face and she is gorgeous Donna Douglas ("Ellie Mae" from the Beverly Hillbillies). Then we finally see the doctors, who all have horrible faces with pig noses....!
