... but the prof insisted that the person had sounded completely serious. There had been a bunch of articles in the local paper about sex offenders in town, and that might have started things off -- since the geography department shared the same building as sociology and psychology, I guess it's possible that the college switchboard had misunderstood, and put the call through to the wrong office.

Ironically, I may be slated to teach the intro pedology course this fall (at another school, several time zones away, so I hope the same person doesn't call me up!).
