God DAMMIT, my favorite co-worker just got sacked.

I have no idea why, though I guess if it was any of my business, I'd know.

We've been there together since mid-'01, and she's a joy to work with. I have no idea what the hell she's going to do, and I feel horrible for her, and frankly for me, too, I'm going to miss her a lot.

The capper is, last summer she helped save my ass from getting fired. If I'd had even the SLIGHTEST idea that this was coming I would have totally, unhesitatingly gone to the mat for her, and not just as a good deed in kind, but because she rocks at what she does.

What a totally fucked-up thing.

Check this one though... One of my coworkers resigned in November. he had moved here from Detroit in 2002 because that office closed. He was a pretty decent dude, musician, a bit older than I, but we got along.

Last Friday we got word from his brother that he committed suicide that Weds. His brother came in from Detroit to take care of business and he was at the office today. I felt a bit strange talking to him. This is the 6th suicide where I have personally known the person and it doesn't make sense no matter how many times.

I hope your friend gets on her feet quickly. Maybe you can get her some leads at some places.
