I do not have a picture of my strange cat, Monkey, but she is gray with a white lower part of the face (mouth, chin) and faded stripes. She looks like a gray tabby and has funny ears.
She is very loving and is very, very friendly. She never scratches or hisses unless she is frightened badly.
She brings socks and other things to me in the evening.

4. I've got three wonderful kitties

The first one, which I call Marmalade, has been with me for about 3 years now. When I found her she was very young and was a stray. Unfortunately, I soon found out she was also pregnant and could not allow her to have the kittens where I was staying. That's something I will always feel guilty about but I remind myself that the alternative would most likely have been far worse for both her and the kittens. She is very small and has a very skittish personality, but once she takes you into her confidence she's an absolute sweetheart.

The second one, named Calis, is one of the two cats my wife brought here with her from Arizona. Sadly, the other one of those two ran off and hasn't been seen but I still have dreams of finding him more than two months later.... Calis is a mostly black male with some white on the belly and paws, and he has these huge dark eyes. He is a true attention hog and will crawl all over you in an almost doglike fashion when he wants to be cuddled.

The third one is a stray that we brought in a couple of months ago. We named him Shakey because when we first started feeding him outside he was so overjoyed that his tail quivered like crazy while he was trying to eat. He is striped orange and white, and has just a touch of black fur mixed in on one leg. It looks so out of place that for a long time I thought it was dirt in his fur. He was hanging out around our new apartment building from the time we moved in back in July, and in the extreme heat (often into the low 120's here in the lower elevations of Vegas this summer!) he was terribly emaciated and always panting from thirst. The true extent of my mother's illness (she died on October 8) was just becoming apparent, and with three cats already at that time I couldn't see any way to adopt a fourth one, but in time I did it anyway. We brought him in because he knew we were giving him food anyway, and he just seemed to feel it was his right to just walk in whenever he wanted. We nearly made him stay an outdoor cat, because for the first couple of weeks after we brought him in he would go completely hysterical every night from about 11 until 5 in the morning, pawing at the sliding glass door and trying to get into all the windows in spite of the blinds. And he would MEOW so loudly and continuously! There were a couple of nights that we just couldn't sleep through his carrying on, so we had to put him in my mother's bathroom, with all the necessities and the bathroom fan on, and stuff a blanket in the gap under the door, so that his racket would only sound like a dull roar coming from the other side of the apartment. At last, though, he calmed down completely, and since we brought him in I would easily say he's gained about 3 or 4 pounds. He looks healthy, vibrant and absolutely beautiful.

I will take some pictures of them and post them here another time. Sorry I rambled on so long, BTW.... :P

5. Three wee beasties.

And I mean wee.... I have little kitties.

Fuzzy is our big boy at 11 pounds. All black, neutered male, 12 years old. He's also our baby. Sweet but dumb. Lazy. Won't miow if you're looking at him; he'll just open his mouth. He was Mr. Politicat's from his first marriage, but now he's mine. Catnip works like cocaine on him; he gets paranoid, hyper and mean.

Next is Angel. 13 year old Siamese (mostly. She's not purebred, but she looks it.) She weighs 4.5 pounds. Quiet for a siamese. Is having issues with the new laminate floor in the kitchen - no traction. Loves to be brushed - we can, and have, brushed bald patches accidentally in the summer. Mr. Politicat's first cat, she considers me the courtesan who provides Mr. Politicat with sex, clean clothes and food so he has more time for her; thus, she treats me well, but not too well. (His ex named her; she should have been called Lilith or Devil Beast or Psycho or Screwlucy. Yes, she very much reminds me of Screwlucy from LT's Theory of Pets.) She's a mellow catnip drunk; she puts on The Wall and hears the Pretty colors.....

Simone (short for Simonicat) is my cat; I've had her 10 years, so she's somewhere between 13 and 18 (since no one can remember how old she was when I got her.) Her first person was a dear friend who was murdered and his mother couldn't keep his 5 cats. She's my old lady. She's mostly Chartreuse, which is just a fancy way of saying she's a French Monk's barn cat. She's 5 pounds. She is my talkative girl, has a voice like whiskey and cigarettes. She's also still annoyed that Mr. Politicat and I have two other cats, though we've been together for 4 years. A mean catnip drunk. Gets belligerent.

Favorites: Catnip, warmth, wet food, tuna. Applies to all. Angel has a thing for string (she drags the draw string from Mr. P's old BDUs around when she wants to play); Fuzzy likes laser pointers; Simone gives kisses on my nose.

6. I have a cat

He is over 3 years old and is still is the size of a kitten. I guess I have a midget cat, we call him Sponge. A very cute cat, but I did have another cat and he died at a very young age.

7. Two furry ones.

Rosie -- Bluepoint Siamese female, 6 years old and a *talker*.
Dobbs -- Snowshoe male, 3 years old, and a slapstick comedian.

These two, both rescues, haven't a mean bone in their bodies. Rosie runs around the house with various things in her mouth -- leather wallets, hair bands, empty pincushions, you name it. She leaves these "gifts" where we'll be sure to notice them -- in the food dish, on the bed, or at our feet.

Dobbs is a water freak. He can't get enough of it. He drinks from the bathroom sink, comes galloping up to the bottled water dispenser when it's used, and always, but always, dunks his toys in his water dish. I've watched this ritual of his -- the furry mouse (or whatever) is dropped into the dish, swirled around with a paw, removed from dish with paw or teeth, shaken, and dropped back into the dish. This goes on until there's about an 10-inch radius of water on the floor around the bowl.

Fred- 13 years old (one time owner told us, just before she abandoned him); gorgeous orange tabby; huge paws and a great disposition.
Pennington- unknown age; not sure what breed; mostly snow white, with grey black and white tabby patches, and a matching tail that makes him look like he got in the wrong line when the tails were being passed out.
Unknown, unnamed little tiger striped tabby, who comes to dine periodically and to fight (through the screens) with Tootsie and Pooky), Loveable little guy.

All of ours, with the exception of Putzin, who was picked up by my wife at Garden City Mall in Winnipeg when he was a kitten, are other people's cast offs. We love them all, and they really give our lives a big boost.

I have a solid black cat named Clancy (after a dog in a James Herriot book). I got Clancy as a kitten at the Plano Texas pound five years ago. I'm step-mom to several of my boyfriend's cats including Skittles, a 25 pound bundle of solid black feline love. Skittles was an injured stray.

23. Two Of Them

We have two tiger tabbies. Spayed females. Both are chunky. One is very good friends with the big doggie. The other has never gotten over the intimidation of his size. But, she still wanders the house, just with one eye over her shoulder.

I think they're both around 7 or 8, but are not litter mates.

Tink, Doodle, Gord and Squeek. All four of them were 'nobody's cats' at some point -- Tink came from a kill shelter the week after Christmas, one of only two kittens in the whole place; her sister was adopted by another couple the same day we adopted her. Doodle was living under the storage shed in my mother's back yard, she showed up on Thanksgiving and said 'please take me home now!' Gord was actually at the shelter where Mr. Nownow and I volunteer, nobody else adopted him (though everybody loved him), so we did. Squeek just showed up on the patio of a restaurant one night cadging food. We coudln't bring ourselves to leave her there, so we took her home that night intending to put her in the fostering program at the shelter; Mr. Nownow decided, after about a week, he wanted to keep her -- so I can't be held responsible for the fact we have four cats (though the first three were pretty much my idea). We also have a dog who was a shelter adoption through Petfinders (we needed a dog that had been fostered around cats, of course!).

The link below has pictures of the three 'older' cats. I don't have a good picture of Squeek because she's a very dark tortoiseshell -- I have yet to take a decent shot of her where you can really tell what she looks like.

I like Maine Coon cats, but as is clear, I've always had enough 'moggies' just show up at the door to keep me in more cats than I need! I'd like to have one, at some point, but it'll probably be ten or fifteen years before there's room for another, around here (the city we live in has a rule on how many animals you can have, and I use that as my way of limiting how many we're allowed to get attached to; if I didn't, we'd have seven or eight, doubtless).

He looks like he has enormous feet -- is he a polydactyl? I know most Maine Coons just have enormous feet, but I also know many of them have extra toes...

37. Three kitties here

Callie, my old girl, is about thirteen now. She is a pale calico and has a pretty bad disposition...she hates the other two cats. A friend's elderly mother found her foraging for food when Callie was about 7-8 months old. She was very thin and bedraggled, so she wasn't making a go of being on her own. My friend's mother was quite elderly and not very steady on her feet and we were afaid she's trip and fall over Callie, so I took her in. She's lost most of her teeth now...I figure it was her tough start in life. She likes people but can't stand other cats.

Gracie is my big girl. She's a classic dark calico. She loves me but is very skittish of anyone else. When the door bell rings she hightails it upstairs. I got her from another friend who discovered a feral cat and a litter of kittens in the stump of a dead tree on her property. Mary came to work with a mission and found homes for all the kitten among her co-workers. Gracie is about 3 years old now and was making a push to become top cat up until this summer when I got Panda, my male kitten. They now spend all their time wrassling around together. I told Gracie to be nice to Panda when he was small cause he would rule the roost when he grew up, but she ignored me.

I got Panda, newest kitty last July. He is a handful. As in...last night I caught him almost to the top of my Christmas tree. He was carrying one of his little stuffed mice in his mouth as he made the climb. Cute but dangerous. Panda came from a dairy farm that the sister of one of my friends owns. He is cute, he looks like a siamese, but boy is he a handful. None the less I can't imagine a house without cats.

46. Two Guys...

Calvin, a 6 year old white shorthaired cat with black spots. Huge lover of a cat. Loves laps, sunlight, purring, sleeping and food. Not fat, big boned, at a ever slimming 19 pounds (down from almost 22lbs).

Tucker, our relatively new arrival, a 1 and a half yo gray longhaired cat with a white chest. A real talker, has no problem expressing himself, but deep down, he is a real mush. He loves to be the center of attention, and really enjoys having a captive audience (especially someone sitting on the toilet... that cat can hear a toilet seat going down anywhere in the house and will come running to roll around on the floor to keep your attention). No lightweight himself weighing in at 14lbs.

All adopted strays. All short hair.

Squeaky -- large, beautiful female cat from Hawaii (age 7 or 8?). She sort of adopted us, then we unceremoniously moved her to Texas with us 6 months later. She was always kind of half-wild, but finally seems to be settling down to the typical life of a domesticated cat.

Theodore ("Theo") -- small but feisty male cat, age 4 1/2

Daisy -- typical, albeit very loud and very athletic, female cat, age 4 1/2.

We adopted Theo and Daisy at the same time, a month after our previous Hawaiian cat (Isabella or "Izzy") died at the advanged age of 17. We only knew Izzy for her last 4 years, but she was a great cat. Much like our current Daisy, though not as loud.

We still are missing Daisy's son "Hisser", who disappeared one day a year and a half ago, when he was not quite 2 years old. :-(

'tonio, pictured, was the founding father of "Gomi Feral Rescues", which pursuit has kept me moderately sane & less reclusive since i retired from federal bondage. 'tonio died almost two years, put down after 15 years of companionship.he was approximately 17/18 y.o.

i now provide lifetime shelter for more cats than i will admit to, and am still pursuing a "neuter & release" program in a tri-county area. 80% of my cats were feral-born.

She's 13 so she had her CAT mitzvah this year...well no, not actually but I have seen pics of cats wearing yarmulkes and prayer shawls.

88. Two little fuzzies to comfort us through a tregedy

Named Gypsy and Maxine. The names were supplied by the shelter, and they stuck. (Actually, the children were arguing over names on the way home, and I said "Oops, they already have names. We don't want to confuse them, do we?)We picked them out the Sunday after Sept. 11--when it didn't seem possible to survive without a kitty on my lap. Our beloved China girl had died the June before that. Turned out they were't lap type kitties anyway, but they were a lovely bit of hope in that desperate time.

Tari, Sealpoint Balinese (longhair Siamese) female. 18 1/2 years old.

Andrew, part-Manx tabby-and-white male. Has a short "Z"-shaped tail. (I'm not making that up!)

Simon Peter, littermate of Andrew. An orange tabby male with a slightly longer, "S"-shaped curving tail.

The Great Pumpkin, another littermate. The Manx gene must not have come out in Pumpkin's case, as he has a full-length tail with a small kink at the end. Otherwise, looks very much like Simon, but a bit bigger.

I would guess the triumverate are around 7 years old.
