Poll question: DU thread etiquette question.

If you post a thread asking for good wishes, positive vibes and/or prayers, like this one Postive vibe request thread , is it proper to go in and thank everyone that posts good wishes individually or does one big thank you suffice? The good wishes and energies mean so much and it is very important that folks know that.

I really do want to thank everyone for all of the support they have given me, but I don't want to be a post whore and I don't want to be insincere. I just am not sure what to do, what is expected, thus the poll.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for all of your support and encouragement.

1. I think one big thankyou suffices

but I also think that thanking each poster individually does not make you a post whore. (Does make the thread very big, though).

3. I think it's understood that when such a thread is posted, the OP isn't

in the best of spirits and may find it difficult to respond individually.

I would never be offended by a blanket thank you in such circumstances.

4. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules here.

If I posted some good vibes, I wouldn't be offended if you didn't thank me personally with a unique post.

But, other people might feel differently. :shrug:

I would say whichever way you want to do it.....

I like to respond individually to each poster...

It's true that the thread does grow very large and quickly too, but for me, it's just plain courteous to thank each one!

But one blanket thank you also works!

7. I don't know merh.

Sometimes my brain is just too tired to answer individually on a conversation type of thread in a 48 hour MyPost time frame so I try to answer 1/2 (or more if possible at a time) until I've chatted with everyone who's been nice enough to post on my thread. I feel bad when I can't get back to everyone in a timely manner but I feel worse about the DUers I meant to answer before the thread is archived and missed.

I think on the good vibes, good wishes threads one reply to all should be okay.

BTW ~ Thank You! I've gotten so many sweet PMs that have brought tears to my eyes.
I would never be upset if you were to do one thank you instead of individual ones. :yourock::loveya:
