2. What about us who eat meat happily - but also other stuff too?
I'm not a carnivore, in fact the vast majority of my diet is non-meat - but I've got no ethical or moral problem eating meat, and do so on a frequent basis.

8. vegetarian, lacto-ovo
I make a conscious attempt to avoid animal by-products and not wear leather...I even try not to use things that are animal tested. It's very easy for me not to eat meat. The other stuff kinda wears you out, reading labels and searching for shoes.

17. Uhm... "carnivore"? What are you smoking?
Edited on Sun Mar-05-06 01:43 AM by Benfea
The correct word is omnivore. Neanderthals could survive on a diet of nothing but meat, but we can't.

I think your choice of the word "carnivore" displays a certain prejudice, don't you think?

27. I'm an omnivore, but I eat meat rarely when I have a choice.
I've found that I feel better when I eat a mostly plant-based diet. I sometimes have a urge to eat meat, so I do, but if I make myself eat meat when it doesn't sound good, I end up wishing I hadn't.

28. Extreme carnivore
I eat a very low carb diet. Heavy in red meat. It is the only way I can keep my triglycerides in check.
With the (SAD) Standard American Diet my triglycerides run over 500. With a low carb high fat diet triglycerides are normal, cholesterol is 189. HDL runs a bit low. 65% of my calories come from fat 8% carbohydrate, the rest protein. The lipid hypothesis is bullshit.
