George Clooney: "I don't like Ang Lee; and I think he's a communist."
he just said that to Roger Ebert on the runway, during a brief interview

then laughed....cracked Ebert up, too.

pretty funny stuff; is he the 21st Century Cary Grant, or what?

eat your heart out, talentless George (Will, that is, who tried to dump on him this morning)

9. I have a good friend who doesn't like Clooney...
He says that he always plays George Clooney, regardless of what role he's in...

I still remember him in ER, when he found a bootprint on the back of a kid who'd "fallen" off a balcony. He marched out, looked at the dad's boots, and proceeded to try and beat the crap out of the guy on the spot.

I know it was just the script, but I've liked the guy ever since. And what he's done recently has just reinforced my feelings. He's a real American.

15. That's ONLY even possible when you are a big enough star to
notice..

people accused Cary Grant of doing that..and Clark Gable..and John Wayne..and..

17. hahahAAAAA. forgot about that...maybe this is why he said it:
Right-wing polemicist Ann Coulter has leapt to the defence of McCarthy's legacy and the blacklisting of many Hollywood artists and screenwriters.'Clooney's movie ... failed to produce one person unjustly accused by McCarthy,' Coulter said. 'Thanks to McCarthy, and no thanks to Murrow, the worst horror to befall an American citizen in the 1950s was the dire prospect of losing a movie credit - although, since then, I suppose having to watch a George Clooney movie would run a close second.'

another reason to loathe her

I got to talk to her on the radio once, and read a bunch of her quotes that were LIES, and documented them

she said I didn't have a sense of humor

I said my sense of humor pretty big, almost as big as her adam's apple

18. I don't remember the context but she did make a remark
which questioned Clooney's manhood (yeah, right) and when he was confronted with it he said, well that's not very nice, I don't question hers! He's quick witted.

salon interview....interesting stuff, in which he explains what a bad
"journalist" Coulter is

I wanted to ask you a little bit about the McCarthy revisionism because you were already working on this movie when it began; the Ann Coulter book came out ...

Sure, Page Six did a story, just before we started, saying that I was about to start shooting a liberal piece about McCarthy, you know, when we really realized that he wasn't such a bad guy after all! And we've found out since then that a lot these people were spies! There's a lot of that. There were actors on the set who said, "But Annie Lee Moss was a spy. Did you read Ann Coulter's book?" And, of course, the dumb-ass thing that she does -- and, you know, if she was a good journalist she would understand this -- is that if you watch the whole , at the end of the show he says, "You will note that neither this reporter nor the senator knows whether or not Annie Lee Moss is or is not a Communist." They simply demand that she has a right to face her accuser, which is what we based our Constitution on, you know.

26. thanks....good comments, like this
The President's brilliant plan of spreading Democracy is on a faster pace than I could have imagined.

It took America 90 years to progress to civil war, where Iraq has taken only 3 years. At this pace Iraq will be invading and occupying other sovereign countries, and spreading democracy faster than America. Pure genius I tell ya…
