I know Myers-Brig. What do the letters stand for in "Disc"? I can't find anything good online about it.

1. Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance.

At its most basic level, DISC measures four factors of an individual's behaviour: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance.

2. I find it vaguely insulting
No you Heidi, I mean the test or what it thinks it's measuring.

Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Compliance. Ugh. just Ugh.

And I'm _very_ pleased to no longer be working in the sort of business environment that subject employees and job candidates to these sorts of tests.

:hi:

5. I thought the D was for "driver."
Driver is basically the results oriented type-A personality. They don't care how it gets done as long as it does. They tend to be extroverted people persons.

At the other end is the compliance personality who sees everything as a process or procedure and insist on strict adherence to procedures. It is not that they do not care about end results, but rather that procedures determine what the end result ought to be.

The I and S personalities are driver and compliance personalities respectively that are moderated by public or pier expectations. In other words they are influenced by what other people want.
