Post your Profound Thoughts Here
My most profound thought for the day

What would this world be like if Ronald Reagan had stuck to acting instead of politics

2. Here ya go ...
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 12:58 PM by Drifter
If God was real, there would be no need for Religion ... or Hospitals.

If you can't laugh at yourself, how can anyone take you seriously.

Inspired by the Cincinati police death:
If the threat of being beaten with a Billy-Club does not deter someone, then there is a good chance that using it will not either.

Wow my brain hurts now

Cheers
Drifter

Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 02:47 PM by truthspeaker
I believe the universe is a cold unfeeling place where random arbitrary events happen. I believe human existence is a a short-lived insignificant aspect of the universe that ultimately has no purpose or meaning. And it doesn't bother me a bit.

29. It is continually baffling to me
as a teacher of writing and literature that so many literate people understand so much less than do humanity's illiterate.

Sometimes I wonder if education doesn't get in the way of what the heart knows. Other times I just grieve for how few people exercise the skills they have. We cannot be bothered to read an article all the way through, but scan it and base our opinions on poor comprehension of complex ideas or filter them heavily through our personal experiences.

We're capable of so much more.

40. How long did I sit around and think about that one?
Twenty years.

Give or take a week.

Actually, there were a couple of women who figured into that question. But it's not really regret.

Well, OK, maybe a little.

I've been much funnier in other posts today; mainly, with the guys who are depressed that they can't find anybody to love. I figure, if you're gonna cry, you at least ought to spend as much time laughing.
