Waters' lyrics make me think, and feel, like no others. But Gilmour is an instrumental god, and no slouch as a lyricist himself.

12. I know that it's heresy, but I actually find Barrett's work to be just... |
too twee...and "oh so quaintly English" No thanks. I think their best work is post-Syd pre-"Dark Side of the Moon"

4. Can I wait until "On An Island" is out tomorrow before I answer? |
I really like Roger Waters' solo albums (The Pros & Cons Of Hitchhiking and Amused To Death), but I havent heard any of Gilmour's solo albums yet. That will change tomorrow!

10. The poll was inspired by seeing the title track on VH2 |
(Ok, VH1 Classic, but VH2 makes ever so much more sense.) I was a little surprised to hear and see Crosby and Nash with Gilmour. Sounded like a pretty good record.

11. A couple of years ago, my wife saw some early footage of Gilmour... |
and exclaimed, "Damn, he was good looking! I can't believe he turned into that pudding-faced yob"
