Anybody read this? I just finished it last night. Funny as hell, but you know how it ends....

4. I have! Quite an excellent book, IMNSHO!

I have been trying to find more of his work,
but so far the only thing to turn up at the
used book store has been "Island of the Sequinned Love Nun",
which was ok, but didn't impress me like Lamb did.

8. Try Coyote Blue. I just finished that one right before Lamb.

it's kind of a Carlos Castaneda-ish type of book, with Native American influences. It's also quirky and funny. I liked it.

I only found out about it b/c the library didn't have Lamb at the time I went in, so I had to wait for my special order of it and checked out Coyote Blue, instead.

This book caused a big fight between my husband and me. He borrowed it from me then loaned it to a co-worker and never got it back. Come to think about it, he's still never replaced it either.

Loved it. Giggled a lot.

9. Yeah, it was pretty irreverant, which I personally loved.

Remember when Josh was excelling so much at meditation that he actually disappeared and the only way Biff was able to tell his location was from the smell of his gefilte farts?

I haven't read Ann Rice's latest, but I bet Lamb is a lot more reverent and a lot closer to the Truth!

it's not much based on reality, but it was a funny and creative spin on the tale, that's for sure.

24. Reverent def. rapturous love, awe - I'd say Lamb is a lot more

reverent than 99% of the sanctimonious crap out there that passes as religious fiction. Moore's Jesus is funny, sweet, honest, just a good guy that you'd want to be around. As for being based on reality, it suggests that Israel c 33 C.E. was a place where a lot of philosophies were coming together and being compared. As far as I know, that's pretty close to the truth. Call him Messiah or not, Jesus didn't fall far from the tree compared to what some of the other rabbis were teaching at the time ( I hope I'm not insulting anyone by saying that.)

I just finished an advance copy of A Dirty Job. I think it's due out next month. In this one his main character, Charlie Asher is Death's Assistant. If you have read Moore before, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't, pick up a freakin' copy of just about anything he's written.

It was some time ago, though.....but I'd recommend it to anyone who has an open mind and a great sense of humor.......

I found it in a catalog called Bas Bleu.....a book catalog for bluestockings!

Fabulous book, and as you say, close to the truth, IMHO...

You know what? I AM having a good day!

Though I had to get up VERY early and show up in downtown LA for jury duty......

And THEN I got put onto a panel for a civil case that starts Wed. for the jury selection...

And the case might last a month! Omigod......

But at least I got home early today, and took a NAP...

And now I need to go to the store, but at least it looks as though the rain has stopped.....

Oh well.....excuse my going on at length!
